On the plateau of the Holy Spirit and at a distance of 12 km. From Volakas, winter sports lovers will enjoy the natural piste of the ski resort, at an altitude of 1745 m., usually from December to April. The track of the center has routes of all difficulty levels and is suitable for both beginners and athletes.
There are 4 sliding lifts, one four-seater aerial distracting chair, one aerial two-seater, and three baby lifts, serving the more than 20 slopes of the ski resort, with a total length of over 22 km. Today, with the continuous improvement of its infrastructure, it ranks among the first evaluation positions of the ski resorts of our country.
The descent for the more experienced will start from an altitude of 2000 m. At the facilities of the center the visitor will look for sports equipment and will take lessons from experienced instructors.
You will enjoy another walk in the snow up to the neck in the northeast, overlooking the artificial lake of Nestos and the peaks of Rhodope, and relax in the café and restaurant. The area is ideal for excursions on the marked paths, throughout the year, on terrain that has a steep slope and definitely requires good physical condition. The ski resort has ample parking spaces for 800 cars.
Bansko is known for its ski resort and is located on Bulgaria’s Pirin Mountain. It is a 55-minute drive from Granitis Hotel.
It is a fairly widespread sports activity in Falakro usually starting from the ski resort. Its smooth northern slopes create interesting slopes with untrodden snow. We recommend the following routes.
1. Ski Resort (1740 m.) – Vardena (2.190 m). M.D. 450 m
2. Ski Resort (1740 m.) – Chionotrypa peak (2111m) – Chionotrypa chasm (2000 m.) – Profitis Ilias (2230 m.): M.D 492 m
From the peak of Profitis Ilias (2232 m), if the snowfall is enough, there is the possibility of descent through the ski center – col Chorus, to the settlement of Volakas (830 m.) Y.D. 1402 m.
3. Ski Center – Neck of Gorge Peak or Chionotrypa chasm where you can combine ski mountaineering with winter climbing.
