Starting from the hotel “GRANITIS HOTEL” we start for the beautiful paths in the beech forest. Amazing route and very well marked and cleaned paths so that even people who venture into the mountain for the first time feel safe that whatever route you follow, they will not be lost.
Falakro is also of great interest to the fanatical climber.
We suggest interesting routes starting from the settlement or the refuge of Pyrgoi.
The most beautiful and interesting route in Central Falakro is the one that brings us from the village of Pyrgi to the ski resort. Its diversity is exceptional, but it is long and in some places quite difficult.
From the northern exit of the village, next to the church of Agios Sotirios, starts a dirt road that follows the west side of the gorge. In about 45 minutes we reach the base of a slope where there is an old decommissioned shelter.
This slope is located at the end of a ravine, which is a branch of the gorge. Here the road ends and we continue following a well-written path located at the bottom of the wooded ravine (Stenorema). After a 45-minute walk, the trail leaves the ravine and begins to ascend east.
We can cross from the beginning of the famous Gorge outside the village of Pyrgi. Thus, we will have the opportunity to admire “safely” the dizzying slopes, which are interposed between the end of the Gorge and the highest peaks of Falakro.
The gorge is almost horizontal or ascends very lightly. Its bottom is paved with torrent stones and meanders between steep and highly wooded ridges. In many places it becomes narrowly narrow with a width that does not exceed 3-5 meters.
